Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Ciro Robert Balzano was taken home by Angels on Jan, 30th, 2007. After a short but brave battle "Bob" lost his life to cancer. He kept his amazing sense of humour, pride, and love for life to the very end. His presence will greatly be missed. He will always be remembered as a generous, compassionate and loving man. Born and raised in Chicago, Bob entered the Air Force to proudly serve the United States for twenty-two years. A Veteran of both the Vietnam and Korean War Conflicts, Bob continued to show his patriotism by holding a lifetime membership with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1433, along with membership to the Disabled American Veterans, Glendale Chapter 20 and Masonic Temple. Bob is survived by his family; wife Buadaeng, his 3 daughters, Suthirat Soimora and husband Rangsan Soimora, Rungtiwa Balzano-Smith and husband John Smith, and Major Cathy Balzano and her husband Chief Warrant Officer II Jason Ward; his sister Mary Sperry and two grandchildren Chatrin and Rungrat Soimora and step-daughter Hellen Gonzalez. Visitation will be held on Sat., February 3rd, 2007, 9-11:AM with service at 10:00 AM at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City. Honorable Military burial will be held on February 7th, 2007 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

Walter E. Battreall

Walter E. Battreall age 92 died Friday, January 26, 2007 at Good Shepherd Retirement Center, Peoria, AZ. Born March 21, 1914 in St. Joseph, MO. As a little boy his family moved to Muncie, IN and later to Monticello, IN where he finished his education and met Marda Risser, whom he married in 1935. He was manager of the Forbes Hotel until 1944 when he began working for General Mills, Inc. This job involved moves to Columbus, IN, Bay City, MI, Wadena, MN and Crookston, MN. He retired in 1976 after 32 years with General Mills and moved to Peoria, AZ in 1978. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years. He is survived by daughter Connie Joe Abrook of Saskatoon, SK Canada and son Roger of Minneapolis, MN, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mr. Battreall was a 32nd degree Mason, member of the Shrine Temple and Masonic Lodge. He was Past-President of the Masonic Fellowship Center in Sun City, AZ and Past-President of the Sun Cities Shrine Club. A celebration of Walt

Lillian May Linsley, 87, of Glendale passed away on Jan. 24, 2007. Lillian was born in Findlay, OH and moved to Arizona in 1951. Lillian is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Rollan LaVerne Linsley. She leaves behind her companion of 20 years, Mike Pena; son, Ronald Linsley; daughters, Roberta Carson, Rebecca Stockton and Roxanne Hernandez; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. Lillian was the sweetest and most caring woman you could ever know. Her greatest joy was her family, beloved Mike and her dog Cassie. She was loved by all and leaves behind many fond memories.

Muriel E. Winters

Muriel Winters, 94, passed away Jan. 21, 2007. She was a retired school teacher from Bisbee, AZ. She is survived by her son Tom Norma and daughter Diane Holcomb. She leaves behind 6 grandchildren: Debra, Robin, Tammy Terry, Donna Kyle, Ron Jeannie and Shawn Tana. 13 great grandchildren also survive. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, Jan. 26, 2007 at Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 7901 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ.
