Fakre “Frank” Fakhouri, 25, of Sun City, a loving son, brother & nephew passed away August 30, 2008. He worked as an automotive technician. Survivors include his parents Fred & Buthaini Fakhouri; sisters Joanna, Linda & Amal and many loving aunts, uncles & cousins. Frank will be missed by many, Visitation will be 1-3 PM, Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008 at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave. in Sun City and 5-9 PM, Wednesday with Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 4530 E. John Polchin 73, of Peoria, AZ went to the lord August 29, 2008 after a long courageous battle with cancer. John was born January 19, 1935 in Luzerne, PA to John and Susan Polchin. Honored Veteran of USAF, retired Arizona Public Service and Arizona State Hospital. Survived by his beloved wife Karen, 4 children Mary Chavez, John, Steve, and David Polchin , 7 grandchildren, Sisters Geri Blaber of Long Island, NY, and Mary Novitsky of Apex, NC. Howard LV Gray, 87, of Sun City passed away August 25, 2008. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Gray served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. A retired Tool & Die maker he resided in Sun City for the past 11 years. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carolyn; daughter Cathy Avants & husband Tom; son Walt Howell and wife Shirley; brother Darwin Gray; sister Ralva Dyce; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 4 nieces. Private family services were held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Menke Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Irma F. Murray, 95, of Sun City, AZ. passed away on August 24, 2008. Born December 30, 1912 in Campbell, NE. to Henry and Minnie Bierhaus. Graduated as high school valedictorian in St. Paul, NE. Preceded in death in 1988 by husband, H. Milford Murray, whom she married in 1933. Survived by three children: Rev. Rodney M. Geraldine of North Apollo, PA., Loretta McConnell of Solvang, CA., Michael L. of 8001 No. 3rd Place, Phoenix, AZ. 85020, and 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Member of First Presbyterian Church of Sun City, AZ and former member of Central United Presbyterian Church, Omaha, NE. Betty Holder, 68 of Black Canyon City, passed away August 24, 2008. She was born August 17, 1940 to Virgil and Patricia Bush Cloud in Taft, CA. Private arrangements were made.
Anne P. Goss

Anne was born in Martinsville, Indiana on Feb. 20, 1920, where she was one of 5 children. Anne lived in the same town in Indiana until moving to Arizona in 1972 with her husband, Gene Goss who passed away in 1988. Anne worked for several years at Unidynamics, and made many friends in the area. She was active in the Scottsdale Sweet Adeline’s, loved to sing, play bridge, paint, and was devoted to her family. Fortunately, a lot of her family had also moved to Arizona, giving her a sense of roots here. She leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ron Phillips in Sun City, a granddaughter, Sue Baldwin in Glendale, and one great granddaughter and even a great-great granddaughter, also in Glendale! She is preceded in death by a younger sister, Barbara Chappelear, in St. Louis.
Anne’s life was filled with happy times. She always had a smile on her face, and made sure everyone felt welcome around her. Her last few years were spent at the Thunderbird Retirement Resort and later in the Country View Estates.
Anne passed away on August 23, 2008. She will join her husband at the Holy Cross Cemetery. Services are private.

Mary Louise Bookman, 62, of Surprise, AZ passed away August 22, 2008. Mary was born in Hibbing, MN to Erwin & Molly Maloney. She retired from Qwest Telephone Co. after 27 years, moving to Surprise in 1996 from Colorado and was an avid golfer. Survived by her husband Chuck; son Tracy Lee Bookman and his wife Beth; brother Mike Maloney; sisters Molly Maloney Gauss and Marcia Maloney Thurston; grandchildren Kramer, Benjamin, Josiah, Aaron, Jonathan & Havilah also survive. A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Menke’s Sun City Room, 10307 W. Coggins Dr., Sun City, AZ. Donations are suggested to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Richard E. Gamel went to heaven to join his sons Richie and Gary on August 19, 2008 at the age of 75. He retired from Honeywell/Bull as an electrician, he was an avid Ham radio operator, and a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Loretta, sister Ann Stan, son Mike Cassi, daughters Cyndi, Sherri, and Debbie. Grandchildren: Derek Jennifer, Deena, Lauren, Brad Elise, Josh, Jenna, Candi, Alex, Zack, Matt, Michael Desire`, and Emily. Six great grandchildren: Mariah, Celeste, Brooklynn, Kendra, Zhane, and Lila, and numerous nieces and nephews. Richard had a big heart and his family and friends will miss him dearly. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Christ Church of the Valley, 7007 W. Happy Valley Rd., Peoria, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ.

Howard A. Chambers 78, of Peoria passed away August 19, 2008. Howard was born in Gary, Indiana January 27, 1930. He served in the US Army. He retired from City Service Oil Refinery in East Chicago, IN, and also from Stouffer Chemical Co. He came to Arizona in 1992. He is survived by is wife Rosemary, brother Robert, sister Barbara, nephew, nieces, great niece, and many special friends he truly enjoyed. Happy Trails to You! Paul John Gordon, 78, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, August 19th, 2008. Paul was a resident of New Fairfield, CT for 25 years before retiring to Sun City in 1989.
Paul was born in Amsterdam, NY. He graduated with a BS from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY in 1963 where he was a member of Alpha Delta Omega fraternity.
Paul served in the Korean War for the US Air Force. He worked for the Buick Motor Division of GM in White Plains, NY for over 20 years.
Paul was married to his beloved wife Dorothy for 43 years before she passed away in 2003. He is survived by his loving sons, Stephen, William, Andrew and Paul and grandchildren Michael, Aidan, Jack, Liam, Maggie, Raina, Alexa, Sean and Summer.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 25th, at 9am at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ 85351.
