Olga Marie Walker

Olga Marie Walker, 95, of Sun City, AZ passed away September 27, 2010. Mrs. Walker was born in Rochester, NY and was a Registered Nurse. After retiring to Sun City in 1974, she was an avid gardener, enjoyed travel and reading and was a Banner Boswell volunteer and recipient of the Banner Boswell Volunteer Service Award for 19,000 hours of volunteer service. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gordon Walker in 1995. Survivors include her daughters Linda Walker of Sun City, Karen Shirley of Bath, NY; son John Walker of Rochester, NY; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 6. 2010 at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15800 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014 and Sun Health Foundation, P.O. Box 2015, Sun City, AZ 85372.
Lynn Keith Morgan

Lynn Keith Morgan entered into heaven on September 20, 2010 at the age of 57. Lynn was born November 30, 1952 in Stockton, CA.
He leaves behind the love of his life Barbara, his wife of 40 years, and his three children Tammy Lynn, Misty Dawn (Brad) and Lynn Keith Jr (Diane), 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents Lyle Bryan and Shirley Joan Morgan and his beloved brother in law Douglas. He is survived by sister Sharon Holmes, brothers Roger (Judy) and Luther (Nancy) Morgan, nieces and nephews (many who are proud to be his namesake) and countless friends and extended family.
Lynn’s family moved to Arizona when he was a toddler. He grew up as an FFA student and was proud to serve in the Arizona National Guard. Lynn worked tirelessly for his family and was in the trucking industry for over 40 years. In 1995 he bought his own truck and he and Barb were the proud owners of L&B Morgan Trucking as well as a forklift business for the last 16 years. When not on the road, he loved nothing more than to bbq for a houseful of loved ones, hunting, camping, horseshoes, a good game of cards, four wheeling and deep sea fishing. He never met a stranger and he feed them all.
A memorial service will be held Saturday 09/25/10 at 2:00 pm Menke Funeral Home 12420 N 103rd Ave Sun City, AZ. The family invites all who knew and loved this amazing man to honor Lynn at a celebration of his life immediately following the service.
Robert Edison Craft

Robert Edison Craft, 90, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2010 in Sun City, Arizona where he has resided for the past 25 years. Robert will be buried next to his parents, Uriah Higinbotham Craft and Harriet Crossland Craft at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, October 9th at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held. Robert is survived by his nephew, Kenneth McClain of Warren, Ohio and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Uncle Robert is remembered for his kindness and gentleness and will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Third Presbyterian Church in Uniontown, PA.
Richard “Dick” Fisher

Richard (Dick) Fisher, 74, passed away peacefully September 20, 2010. Rich was born in Louisville, Kentucky and moved to Arizona in 1961. He worked for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office for 28 years, retiring as a Captain in 1986 to run for Justice of the Peace in Buckeye, AZ. His great loves were his granddaughters and playing golf. He also enjoyed going to Arizona Cardinal Football games. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by two infant sons, Frank Michael and John Edward. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rosie Fisher (Crowe), one son Randall, one daughter Rochelle (Rodi) Cohn, son-in-law Marc Cohn of San Diego, CA, and four granddaughters, Jessica, Francesca, Sarah and Leah. Rich was a very loving, caring and giving man and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Visitation will be Friday September 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Menke Funeral Home at 12420 N. 103rd Ave. Sun City. A mass will celebrated Saturday September 25th at 9:00 am at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, 10185 N. 35th Ave., Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Catholic Social Services at 4747 N. 7th Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85013.

Marguerite Still, 87, of Sun City passed away Sept. 20, 2010. Marguerite was born in Hanceville, Alabama. She graduated from Michael Reese School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois and worked as a Registered Nurse for 30 years. She moved to Arizona in 1980 and was a member of Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband Donald; sons Donald of Maryland and David of Florida; grandchildren Kelly Still Brooks, Lauren Still and Kevin Still. She was preceded in death by her daughter Ann. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. Services and interment will be held in Birmingham, Alabama.

Robert George Thornley, 75, of Sun City passed away Sept. 19, 2010. Mr. Thornley was born in Kansas City, MO to George and Grace Thornley. He served his country in the US Navy. A paper merchant, he retired to Sun City 10 years ago and was a member of the New England Club of Sun City and was a Boswell Hospital Courtesy Cart volunteer for 4 years. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara; sons Charles Thornley and William Thornley (Stacey); daughter Grace Ellen Callahan (Shawn); grandchildren Liam & Nathan Thornley and Shannon & Finn Callahan. Tim Skertich, Sr.
Age 66 of Surprise, AZ, formerly of Schererville, IN passed away suddenly on Sept 20,2010. He is survived by wife Sheree, sons: Tim,Jr(Karyn), Thomas(Bobbi) & Logan, Grandchildren: Sarah, Alyssa, Tyler, Jacob & Kayla, brother: Terry (Jan) and sister:Lynn(Bill) Kurth.
He was preceded in death by his father John, mother Rose and brother John.
Tim was an Army Reservist, and a retired ironworker (local 395) of Hammond, IN. He was also a member for many years of the Elks lodge 981 of Highland, IN. He had a passion for golf and his custom golf cart. He loved fishing, outdoor activities, IU basketball, the Chicago Bears and his best buddy “Chipper”. His humor, charm & kindness will be missed both on and off the golf course.
Visitation is 9-11 with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ.
Frederick Frazier Bell

Frederick Frazier Bell died August 28, 2010, in Peoria, AZ. Mr. Bell was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1919. He grew up and worked in Detroit, retiring to Sun City, AZ in 1981. Mr. Bell served in WWII and later worked at Michigan Consolidated Gas Company and its affiliates, specializing in computer systems. He was associated with numerous service organizations before and after retirement. Mr. Bell was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church of Sun City.
He was preceded in death by his four brothers (Edwin, Ernest, James, and Arthur), his sister (Lillian), and his first wife, Dorothy Jean Cliff. Mr. Bell was briefly survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jane (Heggie) Bell, who died September 16, 2010. He leaves four sons: Glen (Claudia) Heggie of Scotts, MI; Mark (Toni) Heggie of Greenville, OH; Dennis (Mary Alice Mirochna) Bell of Madison Heights, MI; and Timothy (Peggy) Bell of Wilmington, DE; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mary Jane Utley Heggie Bell

Mary Jane Utley Heggie Bell passed away peacefully on September 16, 2010 in Peoria, AZ. She was born in Chicago, IL to the late Edward & Thea (Johnson) Utley in 1922. She held a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and received her Education Specialist in Guidance & Counseling, Master of Education, and Doctor of Education degrees from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Her occupations included teacher, counselor, school principal, college instructor, and consultant. A lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, she was very active in many church functions, especially the Presbyterian Women. She was a long time member of the PEO.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Heggie, and brothers Roger, Charles, Jack, and Edward. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Frederick Bell, just 3 weeks earlier. She is survived by sons Glen (Claudia) Heggie of Scotts, MI; Mark (Toni) Heggie of Greenville, OH; Dennis (Mary Alice Mirochna) Bell of Madison Heights, MI; and Tim (Peggy) Bell of Wilmington, DE. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Mary Utley of Bethesda, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clara G. Mains, 80, of Sun City passed away Sept. 16, 2010. Clara was born in Chicago, Illinois. An executive for Avon cosmetics company, she retired to Arizona in 2001 and was a member of Grace Bible Church. Survivors include her dear friends Bob & Thelma Thompson of Sun City and several relatives in Norway. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at Grace Bible Church, 19280 N. 99th Ave., Sun City, AZ. Interment will be at Ridgewood Memorial Park in Des Plaines, Illinois. Menke Funeral Home handled arrangements.
