Aarskaug, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all, peacefully entered heaven July 21st, 2010 surrounded by family. She was born March 19th, 1934 in Madison, Minnesota, married Robert L. Aarskaug in 1953 her life long partner. Preceded by her daughter Margaret Lee (Peggy), survived by her life long partner, Robert L., son Tom, daughter Sandy, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, a brother, Peter Kack, sisters Margaret and Lucille, her dearest worldly friend. Services will be held at Menke Funeral Home in Sun City, AZ, July 31st at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley

Berta Elisa Rivera, 86, of Litchfield Park, AZ passed away July 26, 2010. Berta was born in Panama City, Panama. She has resided in Arizona for the past 9 years and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Avondale, Arizona. Berta is survived by her husband of 65 years Eugenio; children Ilka Heins, Ingrid Walden, Anthony Rivera, Iris Stencil and Sylvana Carol; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded by son Dwight David Rivera. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ 85351. Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 6, 2010 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 13720 W. Thomas Rd., Avondale, AZ. Burial to follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

Dorothy Collingham, 88, of Peoria, AZ passed away, July 21, 2010. Born in Mohawk, Michigan, Dorothy moved to Arizona in 1986 from Ohio. Survivors include her children, Dale Collingham, Dorothy Collingham and Bob Heidenreich; brother Clayton (Betty) Wicketts; 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Care Center Chapel, 10323 W. Olive Ave., Peoria, AZ.

June (Larson) Berardini, 88, of Sun City, AZ passed away on July 11, 2010. She was born March 9, 1922 in Denver, CO. In 1940 she married Orville Brelsford. They raised three sons, Robert, Bill and Don. She married Bernard (Bernie) Berardini in 1973 and was blessed with three stepsons: Paul, Vincent, and Mark. June and Bernie moved to Sun City, AZ upon Bernie’s retirement. June was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Helen, sisters Helen and Ginger,and brother Jess Larson; husbands Orville Brelsford and Bernard Berardini and son Bill Brelsford. She is survived by her sons: Robert (Marlene) Brelsford and Don (Paige) Brelsford of CO, stepsons, Paul (Julie) Berardini of CO, Vincent (Karen) Berardini of VA, and Mark (Tanya) Berardini of CA; her grandchildren Scott, Sandy (Grugel), Steven; Roger, Tammy (Bond), Jesse; Cody, Christina, and Amy Brelsford; and Andrew, Jillian, Grace, Peter and Daniel Berardini; 15 great-grandchildren and their families.

A memorial service will be held on July 31, 2010, 1:00 pm, at the Peoria-Sun Cities Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 13450 N. Plaza del Rio in Peoria, AZ 85381, where June was a member since moving to Sun City. Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of June can be made to the Peoria-Sun Cities Seventh Day Adventist Church

Kathlyn, age 64 passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010. She is survived by her loving husband Richard, her two sons Larry Majors of Wilcox, AZ and Richard Majors of Marquette, MI. Loving grandmother of Richard and Zachary, second mother to her extended family of William, Lynda, Richard II, Steven, and Chris McMorran, and loving grandmother to the offspring of her second family. Kathy recently retired from Yellow/Roadway Transportation, after 32 years of dedicated service in the Phoenix office. Malcolm F. Porter, 90, of Sun City West passed away July 18, 2010. He was born in Nova Scotia, Canada. A US Navy veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor. He worked as a nuclear electrician for over 50 years in San Diego, CA and retired to Sun City West in 1985 where was active in the V.F.W. He is survived by his step-son Gregory W. Luke I of Glendale, AZ; brother Clarence Pothier of Massachusetts and grandson Gregory W. Luke II of Chicago, IL. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 26, 2010 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ. Donations are suggested to the Pearl Harbor Survivors Assn.

Born February 6, 1930 in Phoenix, Arizona, she entered into rest July 19, 2010 surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was married to the love of her life and childhood sweetheart for over 61 years. A skilled marksman and avid hunter, even hunting her last elk while on oxygen. She was a master seamstress, knitter and crocheter and had a love for crossword puzzles. She is survived by her husband Bob; children Brock, Rick, Stanley and Sue; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Robert Richard Scully, 50 Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 4th, 1960. He is survived by his wife of 30 yrs. Amy (Bowen). Their 5 loving children- Alaina (Justin) Higley, Ashley, Devin, Kalie and Taylor Scully. 3 Beautiful Grandsons- Gavin, Gage, and Kale Higley. 3 Brothers- Murphy, Tom and David Scully and 1 sister Mary Ann Felix. Robert passed away on the job, July 13th while working for the City of Phoenix as a Plumbing & Mechanical Inspector, where he’s worked for 9 yrs. He was the owner of Scully’s Plumbing & Air Conditioning for more than 20 yrs. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed. Get it. Robert William Koer, 80, of Peoria, AZ passed away July 11, 2010. Born in Salt Lake City, UT, Mr. Koer served in the US Marine Corps in Korea. A Civil Service Engineer, he retired after 29 years of service at Hill A.F.B. in Ogden, Utah, moving to Peoria in 1998. Survivors include his daughter Suzanne Schilffarth of Sebring, FL, sons Joseph Koer of Portland, OR and Michael Koer of Wittmann, AZ; brother Jacob (Jean) of Ogden, UT; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife Mae Koer. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2010 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ.

Charles Myron Hoaglund

Charles Myron Hoaglund was born December 4, 1928 in Arthur, Iowa. Charles brought his family to Phoenix in 1956 from the state of Washington. He retired from the MCSO after working under 4 different Sheriffs. He was loved and admired by his family and all those that he worked with. He belonged to the Rosicrucian order AMORC for 38 years and was also a Master Mason with Hiram Daylight Lodge #73. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years (Mary), his mother and father, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his 3 daughters, 2 sons, 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was an exceptional man, wonderful father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all. Funeral Service will be Friday 10:00 A.M. with visitation l hour prior to service at Menke Funeral Home 12420 N. 103rd Ave. Burial will follow 12:30 P.M. at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
