To all Bertha’s extended family, my sincere sympathies at her passing. Having caught up with each other in the past few years, we enjoyed our correspondence and phone calls. Back in the ’50s, she and I both worked at Bismarck City Hall and spent time together not only at work but also on evenings out with the other women from the office. I watched her budding romance with Jack blossom as he came into the office every day to get the City news and follow her to Ressler’s Cafe for morning coffee. We did a lot of reminiscing in recent years about the early days and trying to discover what had happened to all those gals who worked at City Hall.
Again, my sympathy and blessings to all the family.

To Lola:
Thanks for your kind words.

My condolences to the Case family. My relationship to Bertha was as a distant cousin. I am glad to have had the opportunity to meet her a couple of years ago as part of a visit to Arizona. I enjoyed our brief time together. May she rest in peace.
