David E. McKenzie

79, died peacefully on December 28, 2012 with his wife at his side. David was born in 1933 in Big Timber, Montana. His work as a plant manager moved him to Utah then on to Arizona in 1965, where he retired from Shasta Beverage Corp. in 2004. Beloved husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather, David is survived by his wife Colleen of 52 years; 2 children Tammy & Donald; 2 grandchildren Joshua & Hannah; 2 great grandchildren Holden & Ryden; brother James; and sister Donaldine Labb and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Donald W. & Lola McKenzie & his sister Kathryn D’Josland. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 19th, 2013 at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ 85351. A celebration of life reception will occur immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations made in honor of David to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.

    The thing that most impressed me about Dave during the 46 years
    we knew each other was his character, his private image as a man. He was moral and ethical in his dealings with others.
    His public image, reputation and respect, was driven by his character.
    We have lost a good and caring friend and his loss saddens me greatly. I will never forget your friendship and example of what is good and right in this world.

    So sorry to hear of Dave’s passing away. I certainly enjoyed working and talking with Dave. He was one of my highlights of going to work @ Shasta and had a great all around knowledge of many things, a great man.

    I certainly missed him when I moved away, and my thoughts will always be with Dave and his FAMILY. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
