    I have many fond memories of Hoytt. My favorite is when he ran the auction at the Howell Reunion. He will be missed by his Howell cousins. With love, Beth, Bill and Bea Shea.

    Today is a day fo celebration, if that is what you choose to make it. You can celebrate a life well lived as a husband and father. You can celebrate a man of Christian faith. You can celebrate all of the love and joys that he shared with his family and friends. You can celebrate his zest for life and living. You can celebrate the love that was showered upon and returned by him throughout his final days on this Earth.

    Oh, for certain the sadness and deep feeling of loss that accompanies a dear one’s passing is with you today. But sadness is abundant throughout our lives and you need not add to that if you choose not to do so. Certainly it is OK to cry for his loss whenever you feel the need to do so. The choice to make this a day of celebration of all of the good that he did and the love that he shared throughout his life by sharing it with each other is what I hope you will choose. That is what he would have wanted for you on this day as you celebrate his life.

    My condolences go out to your family in the loss of your Father. Although I have never met your father I feel that I know him from all the stories that I have heard from you.

    Please give a hug to your Mom, and let her know that I will pray that our Lord takes her in his hands, and guides her through her grieving times ahead.
