Muriel E. Kernan

Muriel Elizabeth Kernan, age 78, of North Canton OH and Sun City, AZ, passed on to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on October 31 in Sun City, AZ. She leaves behind her husband Donald Leonard Kernan to whom she was his loving angel and caring wife of 53 years, her only son Michael Lise of Magnolia to whom she was a loving mother, and her grandchildren of whom she was so proud, Kelly Kernan and Sean Kernan. She was preceded in death by her parents and her only sister. Muriel was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on July 1, 1930 to her mother Anne Anderson Harris and father William James Anderson. In 1954 she bravely traveled to live in the USA as did her only sister, Joan Ness, where in Chicago she then met and soon fell in love with her dedicated husband, Donald. Throughout her life, Muriel would fondly recall her younger days growing up in Ireland and shared many Irish memories and experiences. For many of her married years she loved to bowl, play golf, and have fun with friends and family. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service in Magnolia, Ohio will follow upon the return of her cremains at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Muriel’s name to The American Cancer Society.
