Thelma Mary Shipley

Thelma Mary Shipley, born 12-11-20 in Columbus, Ohio. Preceded in death by her husband, Ray of more than 50 years and her son Larry Shipley. Survived by her children, Shirley Docken Don, Dick Shipley, Kay Brinkley Bill, Bobbi Thomas Tim; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchilden and her dear and loving friends, Johnny and Annie Torres. We as a family are grateful for all the Torres’ did for our mother. She was a mother by choice and many other things out of necessity. She owned a beauty salon, taught tailoring and lingerie for many fabric stores. She had her own tool belt and never waited for someone else to fix anything as she was very independent. She passed this on to her children. We will miss her. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 30, 2008 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 10045 W. Thomas Rd., Avondale, AZ.
