Charles James Blake passed away on the 21st of May, 2017 at his home in Sun City AZ. He was born on September 4, 1943 in Glasglow Scotland. In 1952 he, along with his father, Donald Blake and mother, Margaret Blake moved to the United States and made Madison Wisconsin their home. In 1964 Charles joined the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War prior to becoming a US citizen because of his love of the United States of America. He and his wife Mary Blake owned a successful restaurant in Columbus Wisconsin for many years. He was well known with friends and family for his humor and quick wit. In 1985, Charles and Mary moved to Arizona. Charles worked for the state of AZ for 20 years and created many lasting friendships.
Charles James Blake married Mary in Madison Wisconsin on May 14, 1965. They were happily married for 52 years. Charles fought tenaciously to stay alive for Mary until their 52nd wedding anniversary which is a testament of their beautiful love story. He loved her until his dying breath, chivalrous in his strength and demonstration of love. He lived and died as a man of integrity and strength. He was an exceptional father and grandfather who always put his family first. His kindness, love and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all the lives he touched.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Margaret Blake as well as his younger brother, Alan Blake.
Charles is survived by his wife Mary Blake of Sun City, Arizona; children, Denise (Tom) Baerwolf of Rio, Wisconsin; Deborah (Dale) Leake of Brooklyn, Wisconsin; Diane (Norm) Schulz of Evansville, Wisconsin; Donna (Rocky) Young of Mesa, Arizona and Darci (Kenneth) LaCivita. Charles is also survived by his grandchildren; Douglas Baerwolf, Amy Baerwolf, Jessika Mace, Tierney Mace, Stephanie Leake, Cassidy Leake, Benjamin Leake, Jennifer Mackey, Carrie Burkhalter, Seth Schulz; grandchildren, Brittany Ringer, Jordan Young, Payton LaCivita, Kendall LaCivita, Sayers LaCivita as well as his sixteen great-grandchildren.
