Joe Zick, age 78, of Sun City, AZ passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Hospice of the Valley in Sun City. Joe, son of Herman and Lola Zick was born in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin on September 16, 1935. He grew up in Ortonville, MN until 1950 when the family moved to Faribault. He graduated in 1953 from Faribault Sr. High school and attended college for three years. He married Carol Svien Tramel on May 4, 1974. He was a barber in Illinois for several years, worked at Nelsons Super Value and retired from Ryt-Way Industries of Lakeville, MN. Joe was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards. He is survived by his wife Carol, 2 daughters: Joy Drysdale (Sky) Loves Park, IL. and Jamie Cunningham (Chad) Capron, IL; 3 step-children: Bradley Tramel (Chris) Bemidji, MN, Cindy Wilson, Faribault and Julie Kimber (Dale) Northfield, MN; 2 brothers: Robert Zick, (Evelyn) Faribault, MN and Roger Zick (Marcia) St. Louis, MO; 8 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jeri Novaselac, grandson Shane Wilson, brothers Lyle, Lawrence and Victor Zick. Arrangements by Menke Funeral home in Sun City, AZ. Burial will be in April at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

My heart felt feelings for the loss of my high school freind Joe, to his Wife and Family. He had a great smile, was a great guy, and a hard worker. I’m only sorry that he wasn’t able to attend one of our recent reunions, as I wodered what he was doing.
Again my heart felt loss of Joe, will be felt by all his class mates of the class of ’53!
