She spent her childhood in California in the cities of Oakland, Los Altos and Sacramento. She attended Seattle University and then met and married (former husband) Harold Thomas. Their first child, Gregg, was born in Seattle in 1963. They moved to Daytona Beach, FL where Lisa was born in 1968, and then moved to Phoenix in 1970. Lynne was a gifted writer, talented communicator, special events planner and volunteer manager. She wrote humorous and heartwarming stories about her young family that were published. Throughout the years, she worked for the editor of Phoenix Home and Garden Magazine and worked in management and public relations for many nonprofit organizations such as West Valley Child Crisis Center, Sedona Arts Center, Arizona Office of Tourism, UMOM Homeless Shelter and Westbook Village Association. Her last position was with the Veterans Affairs Initiative before retiring. As a practicing Catholic, she volunteered weekly as a Eucharist minister at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center.
Lynne was extremely kind, thoughtful and utterly devoted to God, her family and friends. She was a fan of dogs – especially dachshunds – and enjoyed Starbucks coffee.
