
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Marlys Langer, 81, passed away Jan. 10, 2017, in Sun City, Ariz. Born in Hopkins, Minn., to parents Daniel and Philomene Kopesky, Marlys graduated from Hopkins High School, attended Macalester College and earned a master’s degree in special education from Mankato State University (now Minnesota State University).
She married Ronald Langer in 1955, and together they raised four children in Tonka Bay, Minn., on the shores of Lake Minnetonka. Marlys retired from the Bloomington School District in 1991 after more than 20 years of teaching children with learning challenges. She and Ronald moved to Sun City in 1994.
Marlys was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Daniel. She is survived by her loving husband Ronald; children Jill (Dave), Greg (Mary), Mark (Janine) and Jane (Mark); grandchildren Shane, Amanda, Kyle, Eric and John; and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Marlys was a friend of the Lakes East Niners and Faith Church. She was special and will be missed by all.
