George Wolfe

December 31, 1969 — February 25, 2011

George Wolfe was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 11, 1927 and went to be with the Lord Feb. 24, 2011. After HS graduation George joined the Marine Corp and married his high school sweetheart Peggy and they enjoyed 57 years together before her passing in 2002. George excelled in Math and engineering and became an instructor in the Corp. He received his BSEE from Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland and his MSEE from UCLA. He worked his entire engineering career for Hughes Aircraft Co. in southern California in various management positions. George and his wife had five loving children: Terry (Laura), Mark (Pam), Gary (Linda), Jody (Cindy) and Lana (Mike). These children gave him 23 grand children and 5 great grand children. In 1967 George and Peggy purchased the Seeley Lake Ranch, an RV park and campground in Seeley Lake, Montana. Peggy operated the park in the summers while George worked at Hughes until his retirement in 1982. They then became snowbirds traveling several years to Mexico and later staying at the Sunflower RV Park and then to Sun City West. George was known for his fun loving personality. He liked to tease the ladies and joke with waitresses and most especially play with his grand children. He was very active physically right up until the end, enjoying jogging, tennis, wind surfing and even went bungee jumping in New Zealand at 80 years of age. George married his former sister-in-law Amy Christy in 2006 and they enjoyed many traveling experiences and were active in the Sun City West RV Club. George was also a member of the Photo and Computer Clubs of SCW. George’s positive and loving presence will be missed by all who knew him. A private family memorial service will be held this summer at Seeley Lake, Montana.
