Obituary

Alan Dwyer Morrissey, 84, of Peoria, Arizona passed away on January 24, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born on October 31, 1932 in Fargo, ND, the second son of S.L. (Pat) and Mary Vivian Morrissey. Alan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his three children, Maureen Morrissey of Phoenix, Erin (Randy) Guthmiller of Buckeye, and John Morrissey of Vallejo, California, and one grandson, Ethan Boettcher of Peoria. Alan had careers with NCR, Northwestern Bell, and US West in North Dakota and Nebraska before moving to the Phoenix area in 1986 and operating a Merry Maids franchise. Alan will always be remembered for his friendliness, sense of humor, generosity and positive outlook. We will miss his presence with us, yet we take comfort in the knowledge that he is with the Lord and reunited with his most beloved wife Dorothy. Visitation will be held Monday, January 30th, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 North 103rd Avenue, Sun City, followed by a scripture service in the chapel at 3:00 p.m.
