Allen Kent Whited of Sun City, AZ, formerly of Decatur, IL, died peacefully on January 11, 2026 at the age of 84 in his home surrounded by family members. He fought a valiant seven-year battle with cancer.
Allen was valedictorian of the 1959 class at Farmington High School in Farmington, IL. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana and graduated from Millikin University in Decatur, IL. He was awarded his Illinois CPA certificate in 1969. Allen was a partner in the CPA firm of Sleeper, Nalefski and Catlin in Decatur, and subsequently was a partner in the Sleeper, Disbrow, Morrison, Tarro and Lively CPA firm in Decatur, retiring in 2000.
Allen's hobbies included golf, world travel, bridge and reading. He especially enjoyed the year-round golf weather in Arizona. He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, the former Alice Ginder, his two sons, Scott and Brian, both of Arizona, and six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Frances Whited, brother John, sister Jane, and brother-in-law George Ginder.
As he requested, Allen's body was cremated. He desired no formal ceremony and his ashes will be interred in Horse Creek Cemetery near Pawnee, Illinois, at a later date.
