Alma Sophie Pfortner 83, of Peoria, passed away February 5, 2009. Alma was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Sun City in 1994. She was a master gardener and loved nature, especially birds. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years George H. Pfortner. Survivors include son Raymond Pfortner Nancy Wing Pfortner; daughter JoAnne Pfortner Omar Lopez; sister Lilo Stechl; 2 nieces, cousins in the east and Germany and a cat named Cindy. Private family services were held.
