Our lives are quieter now, but richer for having known Barry Kirschner, who died in his sleep at the age of 71, on August 19th, 2026. He was born March 19th, 1955 at Turner AFB in Albany Georgia. However, he spent his formative years in Penn Wynne, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from Lower Merion High School. A high achiever driven by a sharp intellect, Barry graduated from University of Pennsylvania, and from there earned his DDS degree from University of Michigan in 1982. He spent three years at Luke AFB honing his skills before opening his dental practice in Sun City West, where he served the good people of the community for over 35 years. His patients appreciated his affable nature as well as his professional abilities.

Barry was a lifelong athlete and found his greatest joy in physical pursuits. His first love was baseball, and as captain of his Ardmore Junior High team his proudest moment was a game when he threw a perfect no-hitter, struck out nine batters, and did not allow any base runners. As an adult he played baseball, pick-up basketball, and also enjoyed running. He had been an active member at Arrowhead Sports club for over 30 years, where he made numerous friends, whom he considered his “gym family.”

Barry approached life with purpose and dignity and he was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Heidi, and three adult children, daughter Devon, sons Jared (Geeta) and Jake, and grandchildren Jaelynn, Rishi and Laila. He is also survived by his mother Lois, sister Randy, and niece Rachel. Barry was predeceased by his father Bertram Kirschner.
