Caroline Annette Aune (Solheim) passed away peacefully at home in her favorite chair on July 9, 2026. Mom was born on December 24, 1925 in Dooley Montana. Her goal was to reach 100 years old & she made it! With friends & family present, we celebrated her birthday in style. Carol was proceeded in death by her husband Eric Aune Sr. Carol is survived by two children Maggie Brooks (Mark) & Eric Aune Jr. (Brenda), two Granddaughters Nacole (Brooks) DiJulio (Joseph) & Kimberly (Brooks) VonRuden (David). She is also survived by four Great Grandchildren, Kaylee & Jayden DiJulio & Branson & Taylinn VonRuden. Mom shared with me that adopting a daughter after 15 years of marriage & then 1 ½ years later having a son changed her life!

Carol worked as a telegraph operator for the Great Northern Railroad. It was here where she met her husband Eric & they began their lives together.

Being saved & baptized had a huge impact on her life. The joy of salvation was her strength! Her devotion to Jesus was a given, an unspoken truth that anchored her life.

Mom was gifted with a lot of patience & the perseverance to take on any task & complete it to the best of her abilities.

Mom had many interests & hobbies. She loved to crochet, knit, golf & exercise with her group at Fairway Rec Center in Sun City.

Mom belonged to the Sons of Norway & was a longtime volunteer with Sun City Prides.

Mom, Dad & Jesus took your hand & said it is time! With wings of an angel, up you went! Your gift of love, patience and kindness has not only left a mark on your family, but has also left a legacy for the world to know!

Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 29th, 2026 at Sun City Emmanuel Baptist Church at 11:00am. A luncheon will be provided following the service. 12225 N 103rd Ave, Sun City, Arizona 85351. It is located behind the Presbyterian Church.
