We all have those people we think of when we need a last minute favor or late night laugh; those people who would give their shirt off their back for those they love. Good friends with good values are hard to come by, but when we find them, we always hold them close.
Carter John Treguboff, 21, was that person for many people. While his death was sudden and tragic, his beautiful heart and warm spirit will live on through the sweet memories he has left us with.
Born on July 30th, 2003, the life long Phoenix resident grew up spending his days surrounded by his cousins and with his older sister, Sasha. From a young age, he was quite the charmer. His beautiful green eyes and picture perfect smile lit up the room and made everyone who talked to him feel warm, welcome, and seen. Carter was quick to tell a joke and captivate crowds; At just fifteen years old, he got the entire school to erupt into laughter after his unforgettable slam poetry performance. He was not afraid to go up and talk to a stranger as if they were an old friend because to Carter, everyone was a friend. He was the most loyal friend who was also anyone’s number one super fan. Ready to believe in you and cheer you on though any predicament, Carter was there.
Carter was an aviation maintenance technician and a damn good one at that. He loved the early mornings spent in the airplane hanger, always eager at the end of the day to share about his work projects and accomplishments. Carter was a true craftsman who took time perfecting any task at hand. Being efficient and adaptive in the work place made him a great asset to any team, but his bright spirit is what made him truly special.
He always had a natural artistic talent among many mediums whether it be painting or pencil. He could also kick anybody’s butt in a chess game. He was neat, tidy, and organized. He truly was a man of many hidden talents. He always showed love through sharing home cooked meals, he got that from his mother.
He was a man who was gentle and compassionate. He was a friend, a cousin, a grandson, a brother, and a son. He will be greatly missed and while his absence leaves us with immense grief and sorrow, he is met with love and peace in the arms of the Lord.
Carter is survived by his parents, Tammy & Jason, his older sister Sasha, and his Great Dane, Milo. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center on Saturday May 10th beginning at 10:00 am. A graveside ceremony will immediately follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Reception information can be found below.
