Someday, the light will shine like a sun through my skin & they will say, What have you done with your life? & though there are many moments I think I will remember, in the end, I will be proud to say, I was one of us.
-Brian Andreas, Trusting Soul
Diane Huffman's parents, both musicians, named her after a song. A third generation Arizonan, she was born in Miami, Arizona, where she grew up and attended Miami High School. She moved to the Valley in 1957 and felt privileged to have experienced and to have been part of Arizona's growth. She met and enjoyed the friendships of many people through the years and loved reading, gardening, genealogy, and life.
Diane is survived by her beloved daughter, Kira Artemis Russo; and grandson, Alexander Bauer. They brought love and joy to her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion L. and Hazel (Erwin) Massey; two brothers, "Mike" and Thomas (Tommy); her precious grandson, Andrew (Andy) Bauer; unborn granddaughter, Angela; and her husband and soulmate, Thomas (Tom) Huffman.
Diane passed away peacefully at home, in the care of her daughter and her loved ones. She asked that no memorial service be held, but that you honor her memory with an act of kindness toward someone.
