Someday, the light will shine like a sun through my skin & they will say, what have you done with your life, & though there are many moments I think I will remember, in the end, I will be proud to say, I was one of us.
-Brian Andreas, Trusting Soul
Diane Massey Huffman, was named for a song by her parents, both musicians. A third generation Arizonan, she was born July 7, 1937 in Miami, Arizona, where she grew up and attended Miami High School. She moved to the Valley in 1957 and felt privileged to have experienced and been part of its growth. She met and enjoyed the friendships of many people through the years and loved reading, gardening, genealogy, and life.
Diane is survived by her beloved daughter, Kira Artemis Russo; and grandson, Alexander Thomas (Alex) Bauer. They brought nothing but joy to her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion L. and Hazel (Erwin) Massey; two brothers, "Mike" Massey and Thomas Massey; her precious grandson, Donald Andrew (Andy) Bauer; and un-born granddaughter, Angela; and of course, her husband and soulmate, Thomas Huffman.
Diane passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, and asked that no memorial service be held but that you honor her memory with an act of kindness toward someone.
