Donald Lee
Urban
Nov 3, 1943 — Jul 30, 2026
Anthem, Arizona
Donald Lee Urban was born at Mercy Hospital in Columbus on November 3, 1943. He passed away at his home on July 30, 2026, in Peoria, Arizona at the age of 81 years old. Don graduated from (Columbus) South High School, where his teen years consisted of weekends dancing at Vets Memorial. Reminiscing about meeting his wife Gloria on a blind date, he often told his daughters how he ran every red light to get home faster to just talk to her again, as he was captivated by her beauty and brains.
He served as a surveyor for the Franklin Co. Engineering Department for 30 years when he retired. His last 30 years consisted of immersing himself in dealing primitive antiques, primarily at the Logan Antique Mall until he moved with his wife to Phoenix, Arizona. He loved smooth jazz, a pastrami sandwich, telling everyone his thoughts, and watching Buckeye football. His daughter Brande recalls never having seen her father happier than the first time he held his first grandchild, Emma.
He is survived by children Brande Urban (Scott Whitehead) and Jaime Burke (Scott), grandchildren Emma, Oliver, and Charlotte, bonus grandchildren Madison and Abigail, his brother Thomas Simeral and other family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Gloria (Schultz) Urban and sister, Evelyn Belle. He will not be forgotten.
