Doris Kathleen (Kathy) Hunt, 91, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on Thursday, August 27th, 2026.

She passed away peacefully, in the presence of family, reuniting with her husband Jack, who passed in July of 2022.

Kathy was born in Oklahoma City to James and Georgia Lonsdale on February 23rd, 1935. She grew up with her sisters LaVonne and Margaret, and her brother James. Around 1940 her family moved to Phoenix, AZ.

Her various careers included working for the Arizona State Extension Service, Administrative work with her local church and time with a local medical supply company, but primarily she was dedicated to raising her family.

In her twenties, she met Jack Lee Hunt at a local gas station, where he worked. They fell in love and in 1958 they married. Shortly afterward they started a family, consisting of sons David and Steven and daughter Karen.

In addition to Dave, Steve and his wife Vivian, Karen and her Husband Jeff, Kathy is survived by an immediate and extended family consisting of 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild, as well as her brother Jim and his wife Marty and her sister Margaret.

Services will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Road, on Friday, September 11th at 10:30 am. Afterward, friends and family are invited to gather at the home of Karen and Jeff Gass, located at 15460 N. 30th Avenue, Phoenix, 85053
