Edward McDowell

September 8, 1953 — January 2, 2024

Eddie passed away January 2, 2024 after a long illness with End Stage Renal Failure.  He is survived  by his wife, Tricia, daughters Merideth (Eva), Sydney and Taylor Ann.  Sister, Jackie Carver (Bill), niece and nephew, Colleen (Mark) and Billy and great nieces and nephews, Markie, Cassidy, Harlie and Billy, brother in law Mike.  Eddie is preceded in death by his father Edward Sr., his mother Harriet, and sister in law, Mary Kay.

Eddie was born in Germany and grew up in New Jersey.  He was an avid sports fan, loving all things football, baseball, basketball, hockey and golf.  He loved his Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, Phillies and Sixers.  He would still root for our Arizona teams, as long as they weren't playing any Philly teams.  He shared this great love of sports with his eldest daughter Meri.  They would talk for hours about sports. Eddie also loved hiking, traveling, poker, scratchers, scary movies, comedy, and the game show, Jeopardy.

Eddie had a rewarding career in the hospitality industry, sought after by many for his expertise in this field.  He worked for several well known restaurants throughout the Valley, northern Arizona and Southeast Asia. He was known for his calmness and steady hand under pressure, "Steady Eddie" as he was referred to.

He often invited his family and friends to a meal at whatever restaurant he was working, Always a generous man.

All who knew Eddie, knew how much he loved to cook and BBQ.  Everyone loved his N'Awlins Shrimp he would make for the family on several occasions.  He also had his favorites, hoagies, cheese steaks and any kind of sandwich.

Eddie will be remembered for his selflessness.  Always a giver, just like his beautiful mom.  He will be missed so very much.  Our peace lies in knowing he is no longer suffering.  Eddie's legacy is the kindness he bestowed upon others. May we all strive to be as kind and as sweet as Eddie was.

An incredible son, brother, husband, father, uncle and great uncle.

Rest in Peace sweet Eddie.  We will love you forever.
