Obituary

Eleanor Mae (Diers) Boltz, lovingly known as Ellie, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, at The Gardens of Sun City Assisted Living in Sun City, Arizona. She was 96 years old.

Ellie was born on May 22, 1929, in Waverly, Minnesota, to Elhart and Mary Diers. She grew up in a close‑knit community and graduated from St. Mary’s

Catholic School in Waverly with the Class of 1947, who became lifelong cherished friends. She later attended Minneapolis Business College, graduating in 1948, and worked as a bookkeeper in Waverly and Howard Lake.

On October 1, 1953, Ellie married the love of her life, Elroy Boltz. Together they shared 59 years of marriage. They lived in Howard Lake until moving to Arizona in 1978. Every summer they would come back to visit family and friends in Minnesota that created many good stories to tell

A woman of deep Catholic faith, Ellie lived her beliefs through prayer and service. Her greatest passion was sharing music with her parish communities. She served as an organist for decades, offering her talent and heart to: St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Waverly, MN for 25 years, St. Anthony of Padua, Wickenburg, AZ for 11 years and St. Elizabeth Seton, Sun City, AZ for approximately 27 years

Ellie also treasured the friendships she built over the years. She loved socializing, cooking delicious meals and sharing music with friends and family as they gathered around her singing at the top of their lungs while she played the organ.

Ellie is survived by her son and daughter‑in‑law, Tim and Deb Primus; grandsons Tyler and Paul Primus; great‑grandchildren Izzy, Joule, Sawyer, and Fin; nephew Mike Primus; nieces Julie Jones, Jeannie Strobel, Deb Strobel; and special friend Karen Srock.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ellie will be remembered for her deep faith, her musical gifts, her kindness, and the joy she brought to those blessed to know her.
