Obituary

Elizabeth A Miller age 86 passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Thunderbird Hospital in Glendale Arizona. She was born in Dubois PA to John & Ellen Harrier.

Elizabeth (Betty as her friends and family know her) is survived by her husband Jake J Miller; her children, Lori Robinson, Kimberly Prewitt and Mark Robinson. She is predeceased by her mother, Ellen Harrier 1996, father, John Harrier 2003 and her brother, John Harrier Jr. 1981.

Betty was born in Dubois PA on November 20, 1939. She graduated from Oakmont High School in May 1957. Betty lived in Oakmont PA for many years where she worked at Stones Pharmacy and served customers at the last remaining soda fountain in town. She then went on to serve as a dispatcher with the Oakmont Police Department. Betty successfully navigated life's changes, while also working full time and raising her three children with great love and dedication. She later married Jake Miller in 1981, beginning a new chapter. Jake and Betty had a lot of adventures which included traveling around in their camper truck, fishing and camping along the way. The couple moved to Prospect PA in 1994 and enjoyed peaceful summers listening to country music and playing BINGO at their rustic campground near Moraine State Park. They then began their snowbird journey, alternating seasons between PA and AZ.

In October 2025 Jake and Betty moved to Arizona full time. Betty was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed the company of her 13+ grandchildren and her 14+ great grandchildren.

Betty enjoyed going to the casinos with Jake or friends from her community where she often times came home with more than she went with. She also liked playing games on her computer, watching old game shows and going to BINGO. Betty loved animals and especially dogs. Her and Jake had 2 dogs, Rusty and Sassy which they loved and they loved her. She would often times have the neighbor dogs run up on her porch to see her and she would give them all treats. Betty was funny and very caring and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all who knew her.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, July 10 @ 2:00pm at the Menke Funeral Home 12420 N. 103rd Ave, Sun City. All are invited to attend and share their memories of Betty. Flowers and donations are respectfully declined.
