Frances Eileen Kittredge, a gentle soul with a heart of gold, departed from this world on February 7, 2026, at the age of 100. Born on August 14, 1925, Frances led a life marked by kindness, devotion, and a deep love for her family. She shared 78 enriching years of marriage with her beloved husband, Earl Kittredge, who remains a cherished presence at Sierra Winds in Peoria, AZ.
Education played an integral role in shaping Frances's life. She graduated from Whitingham High School in Whitingham, VT, before attending Becker College in Worcester, MA, where she completed a secretarial course. Her formal education provided the foundation for a successful career while also allowing her the space to explore her many passions.
Frances's professional journey was predominantly shaped within the corridors of the Federal Government, where she served as a secretary and administrative assistant. It was at the Federal Land Bank in Springfield, MA, that she first met Earl, marking the beginning of a beautiful partnership. Her career, primarily based in Washington, DC, reflected her unwavering dedication and commitment to her roles.
Outside her professional commitments, Frances was a deeply creative individual. She found joy in painting, creative writing, and sewing, often immersing herself in artistic pursuits that brought her peace and fulfillment. A keen genealogist, she dedicated time to studying her family's history, a hobby that reinforced her deep-rooted appreciation for heritage and connection.
Frances's generous spirit shone brightly in her volunteer work after retirement. She contributed her time and talents to several organizations, including the West Valley Genealogy Society and the Sun Health Research Institute. Her active participation in various committees at the First Presbyterian Church of Sun City and at Sierra Winds demonstrated her commitment to community engagement and service.
Frances is survived by her devoted husband, Earl Kittredge; her niece, Jane Ellis, of Stevensville, MT; and her nephews, Bruce (Janet), Roger (Becky), Paul, and Martin Kittredge, all residing in Spokane, WA. She is predeceased by her loving parents, Bertha and Homer Dary of Jacksonville, VT; her sister, Barbara (Vernett) Ellis of Stevensville, MT; and her nephew, Donald Ellis of Stoughton, WI.
Those who knew Frances will remember her for her forthright nature, her loving spirit, and her unwavering devotion to family. Her legacy will continue to thrive in the hearts of those she touched throughout her remarkable life.
