Francis C. Maloney of Sun City, AZ passed away January 28, 2011. He was born in Jamestown, NY on April 23, 1916 to Francis & Ida (Carlson) Maloney. On June 6, 1940 in Olean, NY he married Frances C. Sherburne his wife of 70 years who survives him. Also surviving are 3 children, Kathleen (Norman) Bolton of Sun City, AZ, Mary Ellen (Paul) Martin of Suffolk, VA and Michael (Sharon) Maloney of Lacey, WA; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and 6 great great-grandchildren; sister Florence Openshaw of Roswell, NM and several nieces and nephews. After 42 years with the New York Telephone Co. in the Engineering Dept. he retired to Arizona in 1982. He was a member of the New York Telephone Co. Pioneers Club and the West Valley Amateur Radio Club. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. with vigil service 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011 at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. Funeral Mass will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011 at St. Joachim & St. Anne Catholic Church, 11625 N. 111th Ave., Sun City, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 9133 NW Grand Ave., Peoria, AZ 85345-8189. Final interment will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany, NY at the family’s convenience.
