Gary Michael Klimes, 78, of Cottonwood, AZ, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on May 3, 1948, in Buhl, Idaho, to Jerry and Lillie Mae Klimes. He was the second of four children (Carol, Gary, Leon, and Althea). Gary graduated from Jerome, Idaho High School in 1967 and served a mission in Arizona for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While on his mission, he met Sylvia Mickey Klimes.

After his two-year mission, he returned to Cottonwood, Arizona, to his soon-to-be wife, Mickey, and on December 11, 1970, Gary and Mickey were sealed for time and all eternity in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Mesa Temple. They made their lives and home in Cottonwood and were blessed with two daughters, Debra Michelle and Robin Jenette.

Gary worked most of his years for Allred Pontiac, Buick, and GMC, and Larry Green Chevrolet as a car salesman, where he earned the respect and friendship of colleagues through his hard work and integrity.

Outside of work, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling, but found his greatest joy in spending time with family and friends.

Gary lived a life marked by love, dedication, and kindness. He was known for his generosity, compassion for others, and unique sense of humor that made people smile. He truly touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

Gary is survived by his wife, Sylvia Mickey Klimes; sister, Althea Labrum; two daughters, Debra and Robin; four grandchildren, Daniel, Stephen, Rylynn, and Siar; granddaughter-in-law, Andie; son-in-law, Brian; and two great-grandchildren, Jaxtyn and Stevielyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Lillie Mae Klimes, sister Carol, and brother Leon.

His family will remember him for being a loving father, an inspiring uncle, a big brother, a best friend, and, most importantly, a devoted and eternal husband. His love, wisdom, and unwavering support will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

A celebration of life will be held on July 11 in Jerome, Idaho, and another celebration will take place in Cottonwood, Arizona, at a later date.

Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
