Sun City, Arizona

Hannah J. Lynch March 1, 1932 – April 19, 2025 was 93 years young when she passed away peacefully. Hannah O’Flynn was born in Cork City, Ireland and grew up in New York City. She married Arthur J. Lynch on Nov. 11, 1950 and became an Air Force wife. Thus began a life of traveling to new assignments with the family finally settling in Arizona. Hannah loved playing bridge and put her competitive spirit to good use, even winning a state championship. Hannah loved the beach, reading, and her family! She was one of the 6 O’Flynn sisters, but was the only one born on Ireland and proud of that fact!

Hannah had 3 daughters Jo-Ann Lynch, Maureen Zachow, and Barbara Petty. She was preceded in death by Arthur and Barbara Jean. A grandmother of 4, Kevin Zachow, Beth Zachow Deary, Nicholas Petty and Sean Petty, as well as, 3 great grandchildren Madison Zachow, Ryleigh Zachow and Claire Zachow. Eventually, her sisters joined her in AZ and many of her nieces and nephews and the O’Flynn clan was reunited!

Hannah worked as a bookkeeper starting at AT&T, and Decca Records, eventually going back to work as her daughters went to school. She was the Office Manager at the Luke AFB Officer’s Club and then at Thunderbird Graduate School. She encouraged her daughters to attend college and so proud that all of her girls graduated and have advanced degrees. Hannah joined PEO because of their dedication to women’s education.

In retirement Hannah and Arthur moved to Sun City from Glendale and enjoyed life. They went on over 45 cruises starting a tradition that many in the family now enjoy also! Summers were spent in Carpinteria, CA and getting out of the AZ heat. Soon, 50 family members began to make the summer trek and celebrate family yearly each July.

As we celebrate Hannah’s life, please remember her warmth, vitality, and love of family. Think of her with happiness in your heart. Let us celebrate with joy at a life well lived!
