Harry R. Buoscio

October 13, 1938 — June 28, 2023

The Honorable Harry R. Buoscio, age 84, retired Judge of the Cook County Circuit Court passed away at his Arizona home on June 28. Beloved husband of the late Susan.  Devoted and loving father of Beth Mager (Frank), Karyn Buoscio, the late Charles “Chuck” Buoscio and Harry F. Buoscio (Annmarie).  Beloved son of the late Felix M and late Zora Buoscio. Dear brother of the late F. Ronald Buoscio (late Catherine “Sis”) and Jack Buoscio (late Sharon). Beloved Nonno to Mallory (Alex), Susan, Anthony, Isabella and Maria, and cherished uncle, cousin, and friend to many others.

Harry graduated from Albion College in 1960 and received his law degree from the Chicago Kent School of Law in 1963. Before moving to the 5th District in Bridgeview to serve as Circuit Court Justice, Harry worked as Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago, then entered private practice for more than 20 years as a partner to his brother Ronald at the law office of Buoscio & Buoscio. He was long time member of the Columbian Society of Jurists and The Illinois Bar Association. His reputation for fairness, legal aptitude, common sense, and efficiency and as a judge was expressed by the many attorneys, administrators and law enforcement who had the pleasure of working with him.

A proud Italian, born and raised on the Southeast Side of Chicago, near family and lifelong friends and serving as an active member and supporter of his community, parish, and local youth sports organizations. It was in that Chicago neighborhood where Harry met his soulmate and true love, Susan.

His love for his late wife could only be matched with his lifelong passion for golf.  He lived for the game, and it was deeply embedded in his persona. He found happiness on the course, and always enjoyed sharing rounds with his friends. From Pebble Beach to Myrtle Beach, Harry enjoyed courses everywhere, was a proud long-time member of the Olympia Fields Country Club, and for the past 24 years enjoyed his retirement residing on a golf course in Sun City Grand, Arizona.

A true sports fan and skilled athlete himself, Harry maintained a vocal love-hate, yet die-hard relationship with the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs. Harry loved socializing with his family, friends, and his neighbors in his community. He loved good food, travel, music, theatre, reading, and more good food.

In the warmer spring through fall months, Harry was a resident of Tinley Park, IL.
