James B. Hicks Jr., a man of remarkable spirit and generosity, passed away on March 4, 2026, in Sun City, Arizona, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him. Born on July 15, 1948, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, he was a dedicated husband father, brother, grandfather, and friend whose on the lives around him was profound and far-reaching.

For more than 40 years, Jim was the proud owner of two successful flooring businesses, Floors 'N More and Surprise Flooring and Design.

Jim's commitment to service extended beyond his professional life. He devoted the last 18 years to recovery, unity, and service, demonstrating his profound belief in second chances and community support. Having served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, he carried the values of camaraderie and dedication throughout his life. His military service shaped him into the resilient individual he became, one who was always ready to lend a helping hand to others, infusing humor and sarcasm any way he could.

An avid golfer for over five decades, Jim found joy on the fairway, with family and friends alike. Cruising was one of his favorite ways to travel, while also enjoying the occasional trip to Vegas.

Jim leaves behind a beloved family. He is survived by his daughters, Lindsay Box (Brice) and Heather Noble (Kevin), and his son, James Matthew Hicks (Lisa). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Koel Hicks, Aydn Hicks, Sierra Noble, and Carson Noble. Also mourning his loss is his younger sister, Deborah Gallagher and family. They will all miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alice Hicks.

A visitation will be held in his honor on March 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, followed by a funeral service starting at 10:30 AM. A graveside service will take place the same day at 1:00 PM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. Following the service, a reception will be held.
