Jay Sipes, a dedicated member of Faith Presbyterian Church and a lifelong enthusiast of Arabian horses, passed away on May 19, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on May 26, 1938, in Frazee Village, Minnesota, Jay grew up in St. Peter, Minnesota, where he established the foundation for a life marked by commitment to his passions and community.
Jay's proudest accomplishments included his extensive involvement in showing and breeding Arabian horses, reflecting not only his deep appreciation for these magnificent animals but also his dedication to excellence in the Arabian field. Furthermore, he was a longtime member of the Palmbrook Country Club, underscoring his active engagement in social and recreational activities throughout his life.
His interests extended beyond his equestrian pursuits after moving to Arizona in 1997 to include his love of yardwork and spending time with fellow members of the Vintage Vehicles of Sun City. This community aspect provided him both camaraderie and joy in his later years.
Jay is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Sipes, residing in Sun City, Arizona, and his sister, Sue Chavez, of Roswell, New Mexico. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
