Jean Marie Shaufer, a vibrant beacon of creativity and joy, was born on June 3, 1934, in the enchanting town of Boulder, Colorado. She graced this world until June 8, 2025, when she departed from us in Surprise, Arizona, leaving behind a legacy punctuated by love, laughter, and an enduring passion for the arts.
Jean was a woman whose spirit thrived wherever the action was. She drew others into her world, particularly during the festive season, when she would lovingly gather friends and neighbors to sing Christmas carols. This simple yet profound act of bringing voices together will remain one of the fondest memories cherished by those who knew her.
A true aficionado of music and performance, Jean engaged in an array of artistic pursuits. Whether she was in the limelight performing plays at the Elks, dazzling audiences with her grace on Dancing with the Stars in Sun City, or capturing hearts while auditioning for "The Voice," she epitomized the essence of "broadway material." Her melodious rendition of the National Anthem for an Arizona Suns game stands as a testament to her remarkable talent and zest for life.
Beyond her artistic endeavors, Jean found delight in life’s simple joys, including her treasured time playing BINGO. Her proudest accomplishments remained rooted in her roles as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She built a rich tapestry of memories with her family, woven with love and filled with warmth.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Maria Pansera and husband Angelo; her son, Greg Shaufer; granddaughters Natasha Eaton and husband Erik, Shealynn Warfel and husband Mark, Samantha Shaufer, and Isabella Hagen; as well as great-grandchildren Andrew Blanchard, Gianna Eaton, Mia Eaton, Madenlyn Warfel, and Connor Warfel.
Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald Shaufer, her parents, her beloved granddaughter Breanna Stewart, and her siblings. The absence of her laughter and light will be felt profoundly by all who encountered her vibrant spirit.
A celebration of her life awaits at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center in Sun City, Arizona. Friends and family can come together for a viewing on June 12, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and the funeral service will follow on June 13, 2025, commencing at 11:00 AM.
In every note sang, every laugh shared, and every memory created, Jean Marie Shaufer's legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of her loved ones. She was indeed a singular spirit who touched many lives and leaves behind an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her.
