Jesusa "Susie" Banda Rubal of Sun City, AZ, 83, passed away early Saturday, August 9, 2025. Born September 8, 1941, Susie was a devoted wife, step-mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Born in Inverness, Mississippi, Susie spent much of her life in Arizona, where she raised her three children. As a young mother, she and her young family traveled throughout the Southwest as agricultural workers, affording her children the opportunity to experience new places and new ventures before settling in Phoenix and eventually meeting her late husband, Armando.
Susie was an exemplary figure of strength and stability for her children, well-liked and highly respected by her colleagues, who admired her exceptional performance as a managerial maintenance professional in her custodial profession with Phoenix Union School District for more than 20 years. Her greatest joy was her family, and she was a loving wife, proud mother, step-mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, reveling in her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Susie is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria Banda; her brothers, Jose, Rudy, Armando, Adam, and Albert.
She is survived by her brother Antonio and sister Eva, daughters Violeta Vega (Jose Jr.) and Jesusa Clark (John), son Lino Juarez (Kathy); grandchildren Lee Juarez (Tiann), Regina Collins (Daniel), Jose Vega III, John Clark Jr. (Ruby), Yoshio Juarez (Francisca), Clemente Vega (Stephanie), Jacob Clark (Marie), Pierre Juarez (Jessica), Kaleen Juarez, and O'Brian Vega; as well as many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
