Obituary

Joel L. Brand, Esq. was born on November 6, 1962, in Buffalo, New York. Joel attended Niagara Wheatfield High School in the State of New York. After graduation from high school, Joel enlisted with the United States Military and served three years. After Joel’s enlistment with the United States Military he became a mercenary officer and served three (3) years in many countries overseas.

Afterwards, Joel entered into an undergraduate program at the College at Brockport in New York and received his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science and minored in English. Joel then moved to California and received his Juris Doctorate from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in May of 2000.

In June of 2000, Joel moved to the State of Arizona and was admitted to practice law in September of 2000. In March of 2001, Joel was hired on as an associate attorney with The Law Offices of Burton and Leather, where he practiced with them for little over a year. In April of 2002, Joel established THE LAW OFFICE OF JOEL L. BRAND, and became a sole practitioner wherein he practiced in various aspects of law for the last twenty-three years.

Throughout the years, Joel had a plethora of jobs, which included being a mechanic, bouncer, model and a body builder. In addition to being an active attorney, Joel loved to buy and sell antiques and collectibles online in his spare time. Joel was an extremely hard worker and give him his all in everything that he did and was never afraid to get his hand dirty to get the job done.

Joel’s love of history and militaria led him to join the Orders Medals and Research Society (OMRS) in January of 2019, and proudly served as their secretary since January of 2022. In March of 2024, Joel also joined the Arizona Civil War Council reenactment group and served as a proud member for the last three years.

Joel loved his wife, Ambreen, family, friends, Country and God and his long hair.

Joel was predeceased by his mother, Patricia and his father, Allen. Joel is survived by his loving and beautiful wife, Ambreen, his brother Allen, his sisters-in-law, Diane and Noreen, his brothers-in-law, Sajid, Saeed, and Dilawer, many nieces and nephews and his legal assistant, Carriena, whom he called his “younger sister”.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Arizona Patriot Guard Riders at https://azpgr.org/Arizona-Patriot-Guard-Riders/donate in his memory.
