Johnnie Johnson
Wright
Aug 5, 1955 — Aug 25, 2026
Sun City, Arizona
Johnnie Johnson Wright, age 71, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on August 25, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him dearly and a lifetime of memories they will carry forward.
Johnnie was born on August 5, 1955, in New York, New York to parents Alexander Wright and Elizabeth (Blunt) Wright. During his teenage years, he moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where he completed his high school education. Following graduation, Johnnie answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy, an important chapter in a life that would eventually take him from the East Coast to Arizona.
Johnnie married Carol Barrett, and together they built a family and welcomed two daughters, Jessica and Erica. Over the years, their family grew to include sons-in-law and three grandchildren, bringing another generation into the fold.
Johnnie’s passing is deeply mourned by his beloved wife, Carol Barrett-Wright; his daughters, Jessica and Erica, and their husbands; his grandsons, Sebastian and Leland; his granddaughter, Erial; his brother, Alexander; his sister, Brenda; and other family members and loved ones whose lives were touched by his own.
From his beginnings in New York, his formative years in Baltimore, and his service in the United States Navy to the family and life he later made his own, Johnnie’s 71 years were part of a story that will continue through those he leaves behind.
Though his presence will be greatly missed, Johnnie will remain a cherished part of his family’s history—in the memories they share, the tales they recount, and the generations that carry his legacy forward.
