Sun City, Arizona

Judy Lynne Nichols, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 4, 2025, in Sun City, Arizona. Born on December 3, 1943, in Seattle, Washington, Judy led a vibrant life.

She had an active personal life, where she was well-known for her infectious enthusiasm and tenacious spirit. Often likened to Lucy from the Snoopy comics, Judy embodied the phrase “Out of my way, I'm going for it,” a reflection of her goal-oriented and social personality. She was a fighter and never gave up, demonstrating resilience until the very end.

Among her many interests, Judy had a particular passion for sports. She enjoyed playing golf, pickleball, and was an active member of her gym. During her younger years, she played on a women's soccer team alongside her sisters Mary and Jean, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. Judy's accomplishments in sports were remarkable; she proudly won the Fircrest Club Women's Division Golf Championship in Washington State and became the first pickleball medalist in her family, showcasing her athletic prowess.

Judy's love for family and the outdoors shone through in her joyous camping trips with her extended family at Marrowstone Island.  Judy was known for her green thumb and grew a bountiful garden, several fruit trees and berries though out her years in Washington.  She was an excellent cook particularly noted for her homemade apple pie and raviolis.

Judy is survived by her husband of almost 61 years, Jerry Nichols, and her daughters Mary Rorvik and Karen Nichols. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A graveside service to honor Judy's life will be held on July 14, 2025, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona, starting at 10:00 AM.

Judy Lynne Nichols will be deeply missed but remembered fondly for her spirit of determination, her outgoing personality, and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey.
