Karen Marie Scione, 57 of Buckeye, AZ passed away on December 8, 2008. Karen was born in 1951 in Winthrop, Mass. where she graduated from high school. Karen was a Pharmacy Tech and was active in retail sales for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Femino. Karen leaves behind her mother Evelyn; her husband of 38 years Michael; brother Paul Dana; her three daughters, Jennifer Earl, Vicki Jason, and Michelle; five grandchildren Andre, Kaila, Alyssa, Rachel, and Christopher. She is also survived by her niece Stephanie and her nephew Alex along with their five children. Karen was blessed with an ability to make friends easily, had a quick wit and was very outgoing and friendly. She loved reading, board games and playing cards. She understood the true meaning of family-hers meant the world to her. Karen was loved by many friends and acquaintances, and will be greatly missed. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 am Monday, December 15, 2008, at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, 17111 W. Bell Road, Surprise. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Association for Cancer Research AACR.ORG. Menke Funeral & Cremation Center handled arrangements.
