Karen Shanahan

Karen Ann Shanahan, 62, of Sun City, AZ passed away Tuesday February 2, 2022. Karen was born in Buffalo, New York to Jennie (Amato) Carver and Joseph Carver. Karen moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1981 after her marriage to Brian Shanahan. She worked for Phoenix Children’s Hospital for over 20 years in the purchasing department. Through the years, she enjoyed the sun, traveling, video poker, and spending time with loved ones. She was caring, generous, involved, beautiful, calm, and put the needs of others before own. She was the puzzle piece that kept our family complete and now that piece is missing. She is survived by her children Erin, Kerri, William, and Ryan; grandchildren Aiden and Ava, siblings Kathy Marko, Michael Carver, Joanne Snow, David Carver, and Donna Short; and Uncle Joe Amato. Preceded in death by her husband Brian Shanahan and parents Jennie (Amato) Carver and Joseph Carver. Interment at National Veterans Cemetery will be held at a later date.
