Kay Hawks (Jorgenson) passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026 at the age of 99. Kay was born on January 25, 1927 in Story County, Iowa to Nels Harvey and Lila V. Jorgenson. She was the last survivor of Gilbert, Iowa High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in the RN Program in 1945 in Des Moines, Iowa.

She married James W. Hawks Jr. in 1948 and they had 4 children: Gregory (Rina) Hawks, Lou (Eric) Owen, James H. (Mary) Hawks and Carol J. (Bill) Styvenberg. Kay had 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Kay was an active, caring & giving person who was involved in church and community. She cherished friends and family and was always willing to lend a helpful hand or ear. She will be missed & remembered.

The family will celebrate her life on her 100th Birthday in January at her church in Sun City, Arizona.
