Obituary

Larry Capasso, age 90, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on June 3, 1935, in East Orange, New Jersey, he was the devoted husband of the late Catherine Capasso. He was raised in Nyack, New York, and later settled with Catherine in Orange County, New York, before relocating to Arizona.

Larry worked for many years as a harness horse trainer and driver, later transitioning to Thoroughbreds after moving to Arizona. An accomplished marksman, he held a Guinness World Record for his marksmanship skills.

He is survived by his children, Angela and Michael; his granddaughter, Sofia, son-in -law, Hugh Drexler; and eight siblings. While his loss is deeply felt, his family finds comfort in knowing he is reunited with Catherine, the love of his life.

A wake will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 2-5 at the Menke Funeral Home located at 12420 North 103rd Avenue, Sun City, Arizona 85351.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 10:00 o’clock at Saint Clement of Rome Catholic Church 15800 N Del Webb Blvd Sun City, AZ 85351 with burial to follow at the National Memorial Cemetery located at 2929 E Pinnacle Peak Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024.
