Obituary

Louis James Pappas, born on October 6, 1952, in Harvey, Illinois, peacefully departed this life at the age of 73. A kind and caring man of many interests, Louis was known for his depth of creativity, love of family, and boundless enthusiasm in all endeavors he undertook.

Throughout his life, Louis dedicated much of his free time to being a private pilot and showcased his passion for aviation by building multiple airplanes. A skilled craftsman, Louis mastered various aspects of building trades including electrical work, plumbing, and landscaping. As a self-taught musician, Louis regularly played the guitar and piano for most of his life; interests he eventually passed along to his children. Overall, Louis was a modern-day renaissance man whose relentless drive to learn from and engage with the world around him was only overshadowed by his love of family.

Louis's professional journey was equally impressive. Together with his wife, Deborah, he successfully opened and operated several businesses, including four thriving Italian restaurants across two states. Eventually making a transition into financial advisement, Louis started a successful wealth management firm which thrived for over 20 years. This impressive portfolio is a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit, drive, and his commitment to providing a wonderful life for his family.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Deborah, his sons, James L. Pappas and Christopher M. Pappas, his daughter-in-law Natasha Marakowski and his grandchildren, Ava Loretz, Bradley Pappas, Andrew Pappas, and Elizabeth Pappas. Also cherishing his memory is his sister Margaret Tendler and his brother Steven M. Pappas. Louis is preceded in death by his father, James L. Pappas, and his mother, Jeanette T. Pappas.

Louis James Pappas will be remembered not only for his achievements and passions but also for the genuine love and support he imparted to his family. His legacy of innovation, family loyalty, and unyielding spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
