Obituary

Lynda Ann Hayes, formerly Floral Ann Chauvin, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 76 in Goodyear, Arizona.

Born on October 3, 1949, in Houma, Louisiana, Lynda carried the hospitality and strength of her Southern roots throughout her life. She resided in Goodyear, Arizona, and was a former long-time resident of Cibolo, Texas.

After earning an associate’s degree in business administration, Lynda built a rewarding career in office administration, where her natural talent for organization shone. Beyond her professional life, she had a remarkable capacity for love and kindness, which she shared generously with all who knew her.

Her days often began with quiet reflection, reading her daily devotionals while enjoying her morning coffee—a ritual that grounded her, followed by her daily chats with family members so she could share her pearls of wisdom and silly anecdotes for life.

Over the years, Lynda embraced a variety of hobbies and interests, ranging from tennis and bingo to the tranquility of sailing. She was a faithful woman who enjoyed hosting bible study, fostering fellowship and spiritual growth in her church community. She loved cheering on her beloved Longhorns and Cubs and enjoyed the lighter entertainment of watching reality TV.

Lynda was a woman of exceptional kindness, bravery, and wisdom, graced with a witty sense of humor. She held a foundational piece of wisdom, passed down from her own mother, that she instilled in her family: "Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?" This mantra guided her life and became a cornerstone of her legacy.

She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph David Hayes; her sisters, Silvia Trahan and Brenda Bergeron; her children, Henry Daigle, Jr., Danee Bertram (husband Charles), and Nicholle (Nikki) Morgan (husband Nick); her stepsons, Joe Hayes (wife Amber) and Robbie Hayes (wife Kerry Epstein). Lynda also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Amber Sydeski (husband Matt) Jessica K., Taylir Hahn (husband York), Nicholas Morgan (wife Kylyn), McKenzie Long (husband Jared) Rebecca Berry, Jack Hayes, and great-grandchildren, Braelyn, Ryleigh, Emma, Rhett, and Haisley. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Norris and Leona Chauvin, siblings Eldric, Carlisle, Al, and Loa Ann, grandchildren Tanner, Shaylinn, and Braedan.

Above all, she treasured spending time with her family, organizing gatherings, and simply being present for those she loved.

A service to celebrate Lynda's life will be held at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 North 103rd Avenue, Sun City, Arizona on December 18 at 6pm. Memorial contributions can be made to ACTS Missions.
