Manuel (Manny) Figueroa Jr.

Manny Figueroa Jr. March 5, 1943- August 10, 2020 Manny was an avid horseman. He began his career in 1959 as jockey at Rillito Park in Tucson. He traveled around and rode in places like; Prescott Dowas, Turf Paradise, and all the fair circuits in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Juarez, Mexico. In 1965 he proudly served in the US Army and when he returned home in 1967, he continued riding, owning, and training racehorses. Manny is survived by his beloved mother, Aurelia, sisters; Adelina Portillo (Ed), Gregoria Ortiz (Manny) and brother, Louie. Manny’s daughter Anna, his grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many good and caring cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Manny Figueroa Sr. A memorial service will be held at a later date when COVID-19 is under control.
