IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marilyn Jean
Meiner
August 30, 1936 – November 12, 2025
Marilyn Jean Meiner, loving known as Jean, age 89 passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025. Born on August 30, 1936, Jean lived a life defined by service, humility and an unwavering devotion to her family. To describe her as selfless would be an understatement - she consistently placed the needs of her loved ones and those in her care before her own.
Jean married Sam Meiner on September 9, 1956. Together they built a life rooted in hard work, commitment and deep family tradition. Sam owned and operated a second – hand store on Jefferson, and Jean was the steady, loving foundation of their family.
Jean devoted 33 years of her life caring for others as a registered Nurse and Orangewood/Terraces Skilled Nursing Facility. Nursing was not just her profession – it was her calling. Her compassion, clinical excellence and advocacy for patients earned her the honor of RN Nurse of the year at the Terraces on December 3, 2004, as well as RN Nurse of the year for the state of Arizona.
Above all, Jean’s greatest joy was her family. She was devoted mother to her children David Meiner (Wife Georgana), Marcia Meiner, Phillip Meiner (Wife Cassie), and Berry Meiner. She also shared a special friendship with Joy, Barry’s former wife.
Jean was a proud grandmother to Sarah, Shawn, Laury, Moriah, Justin, and Matthew and delighted in the many great-grandchildren and great - great -grandchildren who followed.
Jean loved to travel and create memories. Kaibab Lake held a special treasure place in her heart and in the heart of her family, filled with stories and laughter. Later in life she embraced cruising, enjoyed frequent visits to the casino, and took joy in both in adventure and simple pleasures.
Family traditions were central to Jean’s life. She was famous for her manicotti, Easter bunny cakes banana cream pie and her beloved date bread. Recipes that carried far more than flavor and will continue to be shared and remembered for generations
Jean will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her remarkable ability to make others feel seen, supported and loved. Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.
