Mary Jane Genty, affectionately known as Mary Jane, passed away on February 11, 2024, in Sun City, Arizona. She was born on April 29, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois. Mary Jane's vibrant personality and passion for life touched the hearts of all who knew her. Today, we gather to celebrate the remarkable journey she undertook during her time with us.
Mary Jane was a woman of immense intelligence and a zest for staying active. Her love for hiking brought her closer to her son and his wife as they explored the beauty of nature together. She found joy in painting and filled her home with unique hand-painted paintings that brought smiles to the faces of her family.
Her life was enriched by love and companionship. Mary Jane married Richard John Clark and together they raised three sons who brought immeasurable happiness into their lives. Later on, she found love once again when she remarried her late husband, Edward F. Genty. The memories they shared will forever be cherished.
Growing up near Wrigley Field in Chicago kindled Mary Jane's lifelong love for baseball. She adored her Chicago Cubs and embraced the Arizona Diamondbacks as her home team after relocating to Arizona. Her enthusiasm for the game was infectious, leaving an indelible mark on those around her.
Mary Jane's legacy will live on through the lives she touched and the memories she created. She leaves behind her two sons: David Clark and wife Angie Ayala, and Danny Clark and wife Mary. Mary Jane adored her grandchildren Orianna, Scarlet, Alexis, Aapri, and Rudy, along with numerous great-grandchildren who lit up her world with their laughter.
She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Richard Clark.
The Celebration of Life service honoring Mary Jane Genty will take place on February 29th at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center in Sun City, Arizona. Starting at 11:00 AM, friends and loved ones will gather to pay tribute to her incredible life. Following the service, there will be a special reception held to celebrate the beautiful memories she left behind, beginning at 12:00 PM.
Mary Jane's unwavering love for her family, her talent for painting, and her passion for baseball will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, let us remember the joy she brought into our lives and may her spirit live on through the legacy she leaves behind.
