It is with a heavy but joyous heart that we gather to celebrate the life of Mary Jane Raasch, a devoted servant of the Lord and a cherished member of her community. Mary Jane, born on August 21, 1936, in the humble town of Shawana, Wisconsin, entered into eternal rest on July 3, 2025, in Peoria, Arizona. Her earthly journey, marked with compassion and unwavering faith, has led her to the arms of her Creator, where she will bask in His divine love forevermore.
Mary Jane dedicated many years of her life serving as a Nun, embodying the spirit of Christ through her kind and gentle heart. Her presence was a beacon of light, illuminating the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. With a happy and glowing personality, she shared joy wherever she went, bringing warmth and kindness to both friends and strangers alike. Her laughter echoed in the hallways of those she served, and her gentle smiles were a testament to her deep-rooted faith.
Throughout her life, Mary Jane enjoyed the simple pleasures, one of which was playing dominoes, a pastime that surely connected her with others in moments of camaraderie and joy. She will be remembered not only for her unwavering commitment to her vocation but for the love and happiness she spread among her peers.
Mary Jane leaves behind her beloved sister, Rita (John) Mondus, who will carry her memory in their hearts. She is welcomed into the heavenly realm by her dear parents, Henry and Elizabeth Raasch, and her siblings, Angelina Keating, Dolores Brunner, and Fred Raasch. They await her in God's kingdom, rejoicing in the fulfillment of His promises.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the friends and staff at The Ridges Assisted Living, whose kindness and care enveloped Mary Jane in love during her time there. Your support and compassion have made a lasting impact, and you are deeply appreciated for all you did for her.
As we gather to honor Mary Jane's remarkable life, let us come together in prayer and reflection. A Mass in her remembrance will take place on July 22, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Sun City, Arizona, beginning at 11:30 AM, followed by a graveside service at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Avondale, Arizona, commencing at 1:00 PM.
Though we mourn the loss of this radiant soul, we rejoice in the knowledge that she now walks with the Lord in eternal peace. May her life serve as an inspiration to us all, reminding us of the beauty found in kindness and the importance of serving others in love and faith.
Then he said to them all, 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.
