Michael B. Dean

March 14, 1944 — March 25, 2024

Peoria

Mike Dean, 80, of Peoria, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home March 25, 2024, with his wife and daughter by his side.  Mike was born in Midland, MI, son of the late Meril and Arlene (Pollard) Dean.  He was a graduate of Midland High School.

Mike was married to the love of his life, Janice Shaw Dean, for 60 years.  Everyone who knew Mike referred to him as the kindest person with a great smile and infectious laugh.  In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his daughter, Jana Dean Lake and husband Christopher, of Ann Arbor, Michigan; five grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor, Andrew, Ethan, and Michael (wife Elena), and one great-granddaughter, Valley; as well as his brother, Patrick (Nora) Dean of Traverse City, sister Sharon (Bob) Snell of Midland, and numerous nieces and nephews who adored him. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Shaw Dean, and brother Terry Dean.

While living in Michigan, Mike was the founder and owner of Dean’s Fence Installation from 1970-1986.  Upon moving to Houghton Lake, MI, Mike and Jan established Shenanigan’s Pub and Grub in 1987. Within one year, Shenanigan’s was recognized by the Chamber of Commerce as the most improved business.  They sold Shenanigan’s and moved to Georgia to be near their grandkids, where Mike joined ReMax as a Realtor. They moved to Arizona in 2006 and Mike started his own real estate firm, Kingdom Real Estate, as a Broker.

Mike was part of the Bethel Worship Center family in Cartersville, GA. A Celebration of Life will be planned in Midland at a future date. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donating to the Humane Society of Midland County (https://hsomc.org/).
