Michele Lee Meyer, born on March 21, 1951, in Great Bend, Kansas, passed away on August 7, 2025, in Surprise, Arizona, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose warmth and spirit touched the lives of many.
Michele built a successful career in banking, ultimately retiring as a loan officer for Bank of America. Her professional life was marked by dedication and integrity—a reflection of her character. A proud military wife, she supported her husband, Richard Meyer II, an Air Force Master Sergeant, for two decades during their time together.
Michele attended Buena Vista High School in Buena Vista, Colorado, where she met her future husband, Richard. Their profound love blossomed into a 56-year marriage, filled with mutual respect, adventure, and cherished memories. Michele’s personality shone through her loving, caring, and faithful nature, always embracing life's adventures alongside her family and friends.
Michele's happiest moments were spent creating memories with her loved ones. She cherished family gatherings, holiday parties, and trips to Disneyland, where joy and laughter filled the air. A devotee of the beach, she found solace listening to the waves, reveling in the simple pleasures of life. Additionally, she enjoyed her hobbies of collecting Snow Babies and visiting the casino, often sharing delightful experiences with those closest to her.
Her most fervent pride came from becoming a grandmother, a title she embraced wholeheartedly. She lived for her children, Kristi Gabbard and Richard Meyer III, as well as her grandkids: Brandon, Zachary, Richie, Karisa, Melanie, Abigail, Breanna, and Justin. Her heart swelled with joy at the arrival of her great-grandsons, Bennett and Wesley, who brought boundless happiness into her life.
Michele's life was enriched by her faith in Jesus Christ, guiding her actions and shaping her values. She contributed her time and efforts as a volunteer at Willowbrook United Methodist Church, where she offered help whenever needed, illustrating her selfless spirit.
Michele is survived by her loving husband, Richard Meyer II; daughter Kristi Gabbard and son Richard Meyer III; son-in-law Doug Gabbard and daughter-in-law Tina Meyer; grandchildren Brandon, Zachary, Richie, Karisa, Melanie, Abigail, Breanna, and Justin; and great-grandsons Bennett and Wesley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Huston Agusta Rodman and Valeria Marie Rodman; her sister Vicky Moen; and her brother Ronald Rodman.
A memorial service to honor Michele will be held on September 6, 2025, at Willowbrook United Methodist, located at 19390 N 99th Ave, Sun City, Arizona 85373, starting at 11:00 a.m. Michele Lee Meyer’s legacy of love and joy will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.
